Cosmo

Katie got a package from home which contained the latest Cosmo. She read it and then let me borrow it. It was great. Full of clothes I want and food I want and useless advise and fashion tips. Then my host mom found it and wanted me tp translate the 100 sex questions for her. She loved it, I was mortified and highly amused. I gotta say translating "lube" was not something I imagined I would be doing during my Peace Corps service. (I hope this wasn't too inapropriate for you grandpa! ) love, C

Plus also, your weather comparison is broken. Can it be mended? I really really want to know what temp it is? And furthermore, can you add a clock as a widget? That would be super cool too. All of these things I would like. But not as much as I like you. Which is a great deal. You are the piedmont of people.

The comment about the *ahem* was evan a little bit too much for me. I must go lay down. I have the vapours.

love, ma

Hey, Caitlin!
I'm so, so sorry that we missed your not one, but two, phone calls! I think I must have slept through the first one, and then was outside walking during the second one, and it's not like Mark could wake up to answer the phone! Whatever. Anyway, it was awesome to hear your voice, even if it was only on the answering machine - I'm keeping those messages.
This blog is too funny - and I so wish I could have been a fly on the wall during that conversation!
All is well here in Northern Michigan, otherwise known as God's Country. The weather is beautiful, the water is still a little cold (not that I've been in it), and the bugs are not atrocious, yet. We leave for SD on Sunday, August 2nd, and I can't wait for a vacation! I'm so, so tired of this Development Psychology class I'm taking online this summer, but it's almost over - I just need to write a 10-page paper. Sigh.
Anyway, we all love you a ton!

Hahaha chaulk one up for cross-cultural understanding! I realized I repeated myself on my last two comments. Ah, well. Just shows to go ya that there isn't that much happening in my life just now. And that is okay. My friend Eva is coming to paint today, and tomorrow I go to give her kids piano lessons. A nice barter. I'm still putting the building back together from the Brass Institute. I love my job, my office, my work. Coming here every day is very grounding. I must say, though, seeing all my old colleagues at the Mile Hi Music Festival made me wistful. My friend Jay is touring now as Ani DiFranco's Front-of-House guy. He did a great job on her set. My friend Karen was doing monitors for Tool, who rock. It rained like crazy last night. I heard the tornado sirens, and thought of going downstairs, but I was sleeping so well, even though the outside ear heard outside things. And indeed, a tornado touched down in Englewood, a mile from me. Glad my yard and garden got watered. It's hard to keep up with the Gomez's. Tonight I install my blue toilet. Happy Homeowner activities! Wish you were here...

I just really have to wonder exactly how you managed to communicate the 100 sex questions article or whatever it was... in my mind you were unable to use words to describe anything because why would they teach sex words in Peace Corps school? I wish I could have seen it!
