my favorite month!

Happy February! It is the best month of the year!

Last friday I taught an English lesson to some monks at the monastery next to my haasha. It was great. The called me a Peace Corps Valentine. I taught them how to introduce themselves, the difference between volunteer and valentine, and the difference between p and f, which is difficult for mongolians. It was my favorite thing ever.

This past weekend was really great. PCVs Tyson, Brandon, and Marissa came to Arvaikheer from their various sites. It was great to spend time with them. Friday we ate at loving hut, then people came over to my ger, and then some of us went to New Leader Dance Club and busted some moves. My favorite part was when they played the Macarena. Saturday we had lunch at Altan Holboo, one of my top 3 Arvaikheer restaurants. Afterwards I returned home to bake cookies, finish laundry and get ready for our evening get together at Allison's place. Other people climbed to the Russian friendship monument, but I was really commited to those cookies, so I did not. Plus I am lazy. Allison's was eally fun. We ate (broccoli cheese soup, cookies, paprika chips, and Eritrean yum yum. We also played Truth or Dare like all grown-ups do at get togethers. My favorite dare was Brandon having to eat mongolian yogurt out of a cup which was placed between Marissa's knees. So mature.

Sunday a few people came to my ger for Kimchi stirfry lunch, which lasted until about 5. I spent the rest of the evening cleaning, watching the end of Season 3 of Dexter, and taking a shower. I feel kinda crappy today. Boo. I have a hard time feeling healthy for more than 4 days at a time. Its also really polution-y outside today. I don't like, I don't like, I don't like Mondays. But not as much as that one girl didn't like Mondays. At least it is February!

I love you! Be good! love, C

At least it wasn't a manic Monday, right?
What a coincidinc. February is one of my very favorite months as well. Love it.
Taylor Swift won the Album of the Year.
I sent you some fizzy lifting drink to help you stay well. Just don't touch anything. Or breathe. In and out.
Sorry you could not hear me last night. I was hilarious. I really was.
I love you more than all the stars in the midnight sky.

Love, ma

Ya, and she beat out Dave Mathews!! WHAAAT!? Are the voters 14 like her fan base?
The production values were very high, however the announce-mic had feedback not once but twice, then during the big HipHop number, ALL the sound cut out, like 7 times. Huh. I'm always glad I watch those awards shows though. Love the gowns. I will say Taylor Swift had a spectacular gown. But she writes elementary songs.
Anyway, enough about the Grammys. I worked alot this week-end, got very tuckered-out. Didn't even have time, at times, to use the little girls room. But got through it, then had a fabu dinner and a swim at friends' house, went to a party at Lafayette St. where everyone is now about 22 years old. Strange. Then had yesterday off, yeah! Listened to A Prairie Home Companion and laughed and laid out the deck footprint in string. Spring will come soon, and so will outside projects.
Love you!

Wouldn't you know it? We just got a nice blanket of perfect sledding snow on top of the ice. Now, not only would you go really fast, but if you fell over you wouldn't be injured!

I am in utmost need of your expert assistance. I have a few dollars on itunes but have been instructed not to buy any more rock by Emily. Any suggestions to expand my apparently monotonous playlist? She actually wants Taylor Swift...oh, no. What am I to do?

I played Friends Scene-It this weekend. I shall dedicate my triumph and victory whiskey-water to you :)

It is an exceedingly good month, isn't it?

I love you and miss you. Happy birthday month!

Um...sister that was no feedback. That was the cenors.
"CBS, caught in the dilemma of having it both ways, sought to include on the Grammycast cutting-edge artists whose music is selling like hotcakes, while, at the same time, it felt compelled to take every precaution to prevent a vocal version of a wardrobe malfunction.

"It was a rousing musical performance, but words were edited from the live telecast that didn't meet our broadcast standards," said CBS spokesman Chris Ender. "We have great respect for artists' creative freedom, but there are certain things you can't say, or sing, on television.

Then why or why book them to sing on the Grammys. That was craptastic.

But that is not why I am writing again. The following would have totes obvs made a PERFECT side story for The West Wing. http://gawker.com/5464098/white-house-pool-fight-no+show-smacked-down
The Roll-Call was the news org scheduled to do the Pool coverage. And they NO-SHOWED. The President of the W.H. Correspondence had to do it himself. OMG. Someone is so fired! Worse than letting Josh do the breifing, only NOT the fault of the West Wing.
Love me some gawkers for finding this...

You got the flu or wha?
